Pfeffenhausen/Mudau - The future of insolvent forestry machinery manufacturer NOE has been secured. Michael Scharf has acquired the company out of insolvency and will continue its business operations from 1 September 2026 under the newly established Noe Scharf GmbH, headquartered in Pfeffenhausen. This provides customers, suppliers and business partners with a clear outlook and planning certainty.
Scharf, who initially became known primarily as a building contractor, shifted his entrepreneurial focus towards forestry technology, mechanical engineering and specialised vehicle manufacturing in 2019 when he acquired the insolvent Trier-based company Werner Forst- & Industrietechnik. With the acquisition of NOE, he is now bringing together two long-established forestry technology companies under one corporate umbrella.
“The acquisition of NOE is an important step for us. We can combine the experience and technical expertise of both companies and use them to develop new solutions for our customers,” explains Michael Scharf. “We intend to invest for the long term and strengthen both companies independently, while also taking advantage of the benefits offered by being part of a wider group.”
Werner and NOE both represent decades of experience in forestry technology. The two brands will retain their individual identities and continue to develop their respective strengths in a targeted manner. The focus will remain on robust machinery, customised solutions and a high degree of in-house manufacturing.
Under the management of Managing Director Michael Scharf, NOE’s existing business activities will continue. These include, in particular, the manufacture and sale of forestry machinery, the construction of specialised vehicles, and repair and maintenance services.
The continuation of business operations is therefore assured for customers, suppliers and partners. At the same time, the merger creates an opportunity to effectively combine the experience, technical expertise and established structures of both companies, opening up new prospects for their future development.
Together, Werner Forst- & Industrietechnik Scharf GmbH and Noe Scharf GmbH form a group of companies that combines tradition with innovation. “We want to continue the story of these companies, preserve their strengths and explore new paths,” Scharf emphasises.
